
Firmware Update v2.0.0: Key Changes

Simplified Profiles: There are now only two profiles available: the Map profile and the Media profile. The separate iOS and Android settings within the Map profile have been removed. Instead, you can lock the controller in the current profile by holding the arrow up and arrow down buttons simultaneously. To unlock, repeat the same action.

Garmin Tread Users: A special firmware version with an additional profile will be provided through our app.

DMD2 Profile: The DMD2 profile has been removed. DMD2 can now be managed directly within the main profile.
Instructions for Android Users
1. Install and Setup Remotek App:

Download and open the Remotek app.

Enable Accessibility Services:
-
Go to Settings > Installed Apps and turn on Remotek.

Ensure the on-screen keyboard appears when the controller is connected.
2. Profile Management:
-
Only two profiles are available: Map and Media.
-
In the Profile tab:
-
Choose which app(s) to use in the Map profile. Supported apps will be listed at the top.

For the Media profile, select the app to open when switching profiles.
-
3. Connecting the Controller:
-
Press any button to wake the controller.
-
In the app, navigate to the Controller tab and request permission to search for Bluetooth devices. Tap Allow.
-
Tap Pair Controller and select your controller (RT One XXX) based on the last three digits of the serial number on the back.

Once connected, verify the firmware version is 2.0.0. If not, update it through the app and wait until the update completes.
4. Using the Controller:

By default, the controller starts locked in the Map profile.

App Navigation: Double-click the right arrow to switch between selected apps in the Map profile.

Map Controls:
-
Pan: Arrow buttons (click or hold).
-
Zoom: Plus (+) and minus (-).
-
Center Map: Double-click the left arrow.

If only using the Map profile, you're all set. Happy riding!
Advanced: Unlocking for Media Controls

To Unlock: Hold arrow up and arrow down until the LED lights green for a second. To lock, repeat the action (LED lights red).

Switch Profiles:

To switch between Map and Media profiles, perform a click-hold on arrow up:

Click (press and release quickly), then press and hold.
-
Green LED flashes twice for Media profile, once for Map profile.

Media Profile Controls:
-
Track Navigation: Left and right arrows to skip/previous tracks or radio channels.
-
Volume: Plus (+) and minus (-) for volume control.
-
Brightness: Up and down arrows for screen brightness.
-
Play/Pause: Double-click the down arrow.
-
Roadbook Apps: Use left/right arrows and plus/minus for trip adjustments and paper scroll.
Tip for Roadbook Riders: Lock the controller in the Media profile to prevent accidental profile switching during competitions.
Instructions for iOS Users
1. Connect Controller via Bluetooth:

Go to Settings > Bluetooth and connect to the RT One XXX controller.

Note: iOS might recognize the controller as a keyboard, causing the on-screen keyboard to disappear. To resolve this:

Turn the screen off and on.
-
If that fails, disable Bluetooth temporarily while typing.

2. Adjust iOS Settings:

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard > Full Keyboard Access > Commands:

Remove default commands for the arrow keys to enable map panning.

3. Map and Media Profiles:
-
Use the controller in supported apps such as Guru Maps, Osmand Maps, and others.

Map Controls:
-
Pan: Arrow buttons.

Zoom: Plus (+) and minus (-).

Center Map: Double-click left arrow.

4. Unlocking the Controller:

Hold arrow up and arrow down simultaneously until the LED lights green for one second. Repeat to lock (red LED).

One green flash: Map profile.

Two green flashes: Media profile.

6. Firmware Update:

If needed. As the Remotek app is unavailable on iOS, you’ll need an Android device temporarily to update the firmware:

Install the Remotek app on an Android device.

Connect the controller and update the firmware to the latest if needed.

Media Profile Controls:

Track Navigation: Left and right arrows.
-
Volume: Plus (+) and minus (-).
-
Brightness: Up and down arrows.
-
Play/Pause: Double-click the down arrow.

Roadbook Apps: Use arrows and plus/minus buttons for trip adjustments.
Setting Up Shortcuts on iOS

Open the Shortcuts app and create two shortcuts:

One for the map app (e.g., Guru Maps).
-
One for the media app (e.g., Spotify).

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard > Full Keyboard Access > Commands:

Assign A to the map app shortcut with a click-hold on arrow up.
-
Assign B to the media app shortcut similarly.
-
You can now switch between the two apps using click-hold on arrow up.

Troubleshooting Guide

Controller Not Working:

Check Bluetooth connection status in the app or iOS settings.

If unresponsive, unpair the controller and reset it:
-
Hold arrow up, plus, and minus for 5 seconds until the LED flashes red and green.

Re-pair the controller.

Incorrect Profile Behavior:

If volume control appears in Map mode, switch to Map profile using click-hold on arrow up.

Apps Not Opening:

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Open Apps and toggle Remotek off and on again.
