Remotek One Controller

User Manual

from firmware 2.1.0

The Remotek One controller runs on a cr2450 battery that lasts for years and uses bluetooth for communication with your iOS or Android device. There are two profiles, one Map profile where the buttons sends key codes for managing maps like plus/minus and arrow buttons, and one Media profile with keycodes for managing media apps, like volume, skip, play/pause. When you receive the new controlller, it is locked in the Map profile. We recommend to keep it locked until you get the basic knowledge, and then, if you also are going to use it for media (or roadbook) control, you unlock that profile. Read on to see how to use it, how you unlock the second profile and how to switch between the two and open your favorite apps when you do.

We recommend that you replace the battery once per season(two screws in the back to open controller) to guarantee that you never run out of juice.

A - Mounting the controller

1. Unpack the goodies bag which includes two brackets, one for straight mount on the handlebar and one for sideways mount over the mirror/clutch bracket, two spacers to lift the sideways mount higher above the mirror/clutch mound, two sets of bolts and nuts and two stripes of grip tape.

2. Remove the paper and attach the grip tape to the area of the handlebar where you want the controller. You might have to move the existing brackets sideway a litte to make room for our controller.

3. Mount the controller bracket in an angle which makes it easy to get to the buttons with your thumb. Do not over tighten the bolts. It is ok to leave it so that you can just turn the controller on the handlebar.

4. Slide in the controller and tighten the nut on top to secure it in place.

5. If you need more mounting options, go to the front page and look at the selection of 3d designed brackets for download.

G - FAQ

  • How often must I replace the CR2450 battery?

    • It will last for about three years, but we recommend replacing it once per season. Unscrew the two bttom screws and slide out the old, then reverse.

  • How do I turn the controller on and off?

    • You don´t. It goes into sleep and deep sleep by itself, and you wake it by clicking any button.

  • I have trouble connecting or using the controller, what do I do?

    • Remove the bluetooth connection and reset controller by holding the arrow up, plus and minus buttons in at the same time for about 6-8 seconds until the led flashes green and red, then connect the controller again in Bluetooth. That solves many issues, but read the Trouble shooting section above if you still have issues.

  • The controller does not work as it should in Stegra, DMD2 or Osmand?

    • Check the section above: Using the controller for specific app settings

  • What about the warranty?

    • We guarantee that the controller will last for years, and if it does not, we will replace it within three years from purchase.

    • We will also replace most parts that are damaged, and often the whole controller if you have been unlucky.

  • The Select function does not work in menus, why not?

    • We have not included that function, because from a safety aspect you should not ride and scroll menus. The controller is to help you do basic tasks on the screen without taking your attention of the road. Menus, scrolling, Facebook updates and more should be done while being parked along the road.

  • Does the controller work with Garmin units?

    • Yes, but per now only with Garmin Tread SxS and Overland. You will need a special firmware for this. Let us know and will will send it to you.

  • Does the controller work with Apple Carplay and/or Android Auto?

    • No, not per now. We are looking into this.

Please give us feedback for improving this manual. Good luck with the most unique controller on the market.
